You didn t state a budget. Check out the Astoria Park. East River view with bridges and Manhattan in the background. You could get away with a small gathering and then move to a restaurant later. Have had my grandsons birthday parties there for years. Arrange to have someone deal with litter and you are not breaking any laws. hotel booking

I would enthusiastically second (or 3rd or 4th, however many had suggested it) Wave Hill up in Riverside. It has both outdoor settings and indoor ones if the weather turns. It is one of the great American botanical gardens. It is not right on the shore of the Hudson, but overlooks it spectacularly. A bit out of the way but the train goes to Riverside and then it is a short walk or bus ride up the hill. Check it out at: http://www.wavehill.org/weddings/ cheap hotel

ladyleo (# 23 of 25) 11:06pm Jul 24, 2006 EST I was in New York this weekend and noticed a bride outside the Battery Gardens in Battery Park. Looks like they were setting up for the reception there. I have no idea what it costs. slb8888 (# 24 of 25) 04:00pm Jul 25, 2006 EST

I love the conservatory garden in central park. Here is an exerpt from its website: Whether you re planning a leisurely stroll, an intimate wedding, or some quiet time with a good book, the Conservatory Garden offers a peaceful and colorful setting in all seasons. The six-acre Conservatory Garden is Central Park s only formal garden.... The Conservatory Garden is in fact three gardens representing different landscape styles: Italian, French, and English. flight booking

To enter the six-acre Garden from Fifth Avenue and 105th Street, you must pass through the Vanderbilt Gate, which originally stood before the Vanderbilt Mansion at Fifth Avenue and 58th Street, the site of today s Bergdorf Goodman store. An Italian-style garden opens immediately before you. It is a restful oasis of formal green lawn and clipped hedges. It is bordered to the north and south by alle of crabapple trees; their bloom times vary from mid-April through the first week of May, depending on the weather. On the west side is a wrought-iron wisteria pergola that sits atop a series of tiered yew and spiraea hedges. An elegant geyser fountain in front of the pergola provides a vertical contrast to the rows of hedges. travel agent

Eleanora (# 25 of 25) 12:49pm Jul 26, 2006 EST If you have only a handful of people, you can do this almost anywhere. The NYC VB has a wedding site link on their official page. They can help you with Conservatory Garden (north Central PArk), Belvedere Castle, Shakespeare Garden, etc.

In Late April, early May, there are gorgeous corners in Central Park that most people don t know about. Contact Friends of Hudson River Park.org to see if they have a suggestion. You can hire a tall ship w/champagne. There s a restaurant at Columbia University, Terrace in the Sky. Lovely owner--beautiful roof garden. Not inexpensive, no one knows about it. They have a harpist Cloisters--well, you could find a garden corner for a few people and not get involved with huge costs--they have the Tea Leaf Restaurant that Bette Midler restored with her group. online booking

There s a neighborhood garden that is lovely in spring, 90th Street between Columbus and Amsterdam--they often have garden ceremonies, probably ask for a donation. Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center--write them. Read Subscriptions New User Registration OK travel health insurance

Hello all! Just booked my airline tickets to Costa Rica for my upcoming honeymoon. I have a silly question, is there anyway an airline will upgrade you for your honeymoon flight Is this something born in the movies Thanks - appreciate any input! london hotel booking

askabouttravel (# 1 of 1) 03:08pm Mar 7, 2007 EST It all depends on the mood of the gate agent or the flight attendant onboard. Make sure to bring your marriage license to prove your honeymooning. When you check in ask the agent at the ticket counter to see if they can ask the supervisor about an upgrade. If they say no, then wait and ask again at the boarding gate, as these folks have the final control of all the seats on that flight.

Be sure to be friendly and in love that s a clencher for sure. Mention the movie angle, that could work. Thanks from your friends at www.AskAboutHoneymoons.com Read Subscriptions New User Registration OK discount travel

Travel Talk - So many places!!! How to decide I need HELP!!!

Yeah so my fiancee and I are trying to figure out where to go for our honeymoon... We have Myrtle Beach, Hawaii, Nashville, Carribean Cruise, Bahama Cruise, Hawaii Cruise!! I ve been looking at all these places but don t know how to decide... We re getting married in July 2007. I d like to be able to see the sunrise on the ocean (kinda ruling out nashville, but the sunrise can be sacrificed, unless any of you who have seen and appreciate it really suggests not sacrificing it). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all. booking agency

Write a Message ken7821 (# 1 of 5) 11:54am Jul 30, 2006 EST Jason, just a suggestion but if you can do the Hawaiian trip I would highly recommend it. I m not sure where you live, but it s easier to get to places like Nashville and Myrtle Beach, but getting to Hawaii is often a once in a lifetime trip. We ve been to Hawaii and thoroughly enjoyed it. No matter what you decide, I m sure you ll have a great time. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and have fun on your honeymoon.
lauriesny@aol (# 2 of 5) 12:34pm Aug 5, 2006 EST Jason, here is my opinion. Hawaii is beautiful..the beaches are pretty but some have pretty big waves and are not the white sand that the Carribean have. Myrtle Beach is great...has many hotels and is very family oriented. Cruises are a cheap way to sample everything without paying the high resort costs and having to figure out how to get around. Nashville is a city and mostly nightlife. Everything has it s own benefits... If you are an inexperienced traveler, I vote you go on a cruise with food you don t have to pay for extra, you will have a sampling of several places and if you don t like something, you will go somewhere else the next day. I liked the Bahamas...cheap and with sea sickness, we slept when we traveled to the next place. Friends went to Hawaii for their honeymoon last year and they were airsick (the flight is long), the got sick on the twisty roads and they saw lots of undercurrents on the beaches with injuries. I loved Hawaii for our honeymoon but we did lots of travel and not much relaxing. perchy (# 3 of 5) 12:08pm Aug 24, 2006 EST I ve honeymooned in Hawaii and highly recommend it if you want an active kind of honeymoon. There is so much to see and do -- you not not WANT to relax here, but I know plenty of people who ve done that. (It just seems like a waste to me to go all that way just to sit around and sip Mai Tais...) My second honeymoon (second marriage) will be in St. Lucia, where we expect not to do much more than relax. Cruises are a blast but are also a pretty active vacation and not quite as private as a honeymoon on land.

If it s an active honeymoon you seek, go to Hawaii. It s worth the long plane ride (I ve gone twice from New York). In July, you ll have great weather without the humidity you d find in Myrtle Beach or Florida or even the Caribbean. new york hotel

askabouttravel (# 4 of 5) 03:00pm Mar 7, 2007 EST My suggestion if you want to see the most spectular sunrise go to MAUI !!!! On Maui, Haleakala National Park provides a bird s-eye view into a long-dormant volcanic crater and the best sunrise in the world. For a real treat take the sunrise helicopter ride and you ll see the sunrise from 11, 000 feet then the helo will land on the side of the volcano and you ll see it rise for a second time. Thanks from all of us at www.AskAboutMaui.com oldbuckhorn (# 5 of 5) 02:48pm Mar 12, 2007 EST Go to the Hamptons on Long Island, New York - a lot closer than Hawaii and far cheaper and more beautiful than anywhere else really. That s why so many movie stars and rich people live there. There are very inexpensive places to stay (google for info) and the beaches can t be beat, and the sunsets - magnificent. When you get beach bored, East Hampton and other small towns have the best and most lovely and romantic restaurants and when you get really bored, a drive into New York City will get you whatever you dream.

Where to honeymoon in mediterranean online travel booking

For our honeymoon, we want to go someplace in the mediterranean in April/May for about a week but we re having trouble picking where to go. We want someplace that won t overwhelm us with sites to see but still has fun and interesting stuff to do. travel medical insurance

For example, we re thinking about Santorini, Greece. Even though I d be tempted to hop over to Athens and site see like crazy because I m a mythology freak, I can do that another time (we re in the UK so flights to the mediterranean are pretty cheap). So Santorini itself seems like a great place to relax on the black beaches and enjoy the scenery but also has activities like horseback riding, visiting the vineyards, seeing the volcano, water sports, etc. But it s not overwhelming with historical site seeing, I can see myself in a place like that with a schedule of when to go where so we can cram it all in and for our honeymoon, I want it to be more about the two of us and spending time together rather than site seeing the whole time. miami hotel

So does anyone have any other location ideas like this Thanks! air deccan booking

Write a Message laura.doyle (# 1 of 3) 02:35pm Aug 14, 2006 EST My husband and I did our honeymoon in Greece, 2 days in athens and 3 in mykynos and 3 in santorini. I think if you are in the UK, then just do one island. It was a lot of running around and we got to Athens too late in the day to even see anything! Santorini is more romantic, mykynos is more for the partier. There is so much to do and a bus that is right in town that will take you pretty much everywhere. There is a great mexican restaurant there, believe it or not, sits right on top of the hill and has a beautiful sunset! Travel Talk - Javea, Spain or Maui, Hawaii

Javea, Spain or Maui, Hawaii travel insurance

My fiance and I are struggling with the destination for our honeymoon (July 2007). We were given an opportunity to use a family friends villa in Javea, Spain for free for our honeymoon. We were also give a great rate on a condo in Maui, Hawaii from our reception hall. We only have a week for the honeymoon and can t decide where to go. Any suggestions We would like to have places to go and things to see in addition to enjoying relaxing days on the beach. Our flight is free from airline mileage so that isn t too much of a factor in our decision. Any opinions or advice on this decision would be great! We need some help! paris hotel

Bran Flakes (# 1 of 1) 05:36pm Jan 22, 2007 EST It s been a while since we were there, but my wife and I really enjoyed a place call Blackbeard s Clay in the Bahamas. We were on a cruise and it was an excursion when we docked in Nassau. I don know if there is actual lodging on the island, but I do remember an awesome beach with hammocks and a bar. We just spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach before we had to head back to the ship.

Write a Message gijoend (# 1 of 2) 11:56pm Dec 3, 2006 EST I lived in Germany for 3 years and found that traveling by train was most certainly the cheapest method. If you re thinking about renting a car, driving is not too difficult in France and Germany, but stay away from Italy. Most companies don t allow you to even take their rental cars to Italy because the drivers are just horrible. My family stayed with a couple that rented out their entire upstairs floor. It was relatively inexpensive and the people were very nice. I really don t know about hotels because I mostly did day trips. Hope some of this helps!
blbuskar (# 2 of 2) 11:17am Jul 13, 2007 EST There are a lot of luxury travel companies that combine top destinations like that. Gate 1 Travel may not always be the most luxurious, but finding a combination of the top three most visited cities in Europe shouldn t be hard to find, just perhaps a bit pricey. autum07 (# 2 of 3) 02:48pm Nov 19, 2006 EST If you are on a budget, look into cruising. I love it and you can get a week-long cruise for a good price. Another benefit is that you then get to explore multiple islands! Good luck planning!
lstern0303 (Linda Stern)(# 3 of 3) 11:13pm Dec 3, 2006 EST We have ben on many mnay ships and cruise lines and Royal Caribbean s Freedom of the Seas sailing from Miami Florida would be your best choice for a cruise for your honeymoon. Everyone remembers their fisrt cruise and their honeymoon. Royal Caribbean really has the WOW factor in this ship. This ship is currently the largest ship in the world. We had the pleasure of sailing on this ship with our family and a big group of people to the Western Caribbean November 5th. This ship is in a word AMAZING. Everyone had such an outstanding time! Our group had children from 8-16 sailing. This was indeed the BEST cruise experience we all have ever had! The food was well above excellent, the Service absolutely unbelievable and the entertainment exceeded outstanding. Sports minded people can enjoy the full basketball/volleyball court, full size fitness center equipped with a sauna, spa and boxing rink, ice skate, surf on the flowrider, golf at the miniature golf course or try your hand at the Golf Simulator, rock climb, even splash around in the waterpark, without ever leaving the ship and it s all included in the price of your cruise. Adults can relax in the quiet Adult only pool area or enjoy the Cantelevered hot tubs. Kids can relax and enjoy all the tons of activities in Fuel the Teen Disco or The Living Room (no adults allowed). Try your hand on the On-Air Kareoke area or watch an amazing parade down the royal promenade of the ship. You do not want to miss the professional icecapades show in the indoor iceskating rink, Studio B, on board the ship all included in the price of your cruise.

Plus this ship has 24 hour FREE FOOD from Room service, a Ben and Jerry s (small fee), a Johnny Rockets ($4.50 cover charge but then it s all you can eat), a Sorrentos Italian Restauraunt (all included in cruise price) and a Seattles Best Coffee shop where you can get coffee and deserts all included in the price of your cruise. You can visit the wonderful interactive website at www.freedomoftheseas.com or e-mail me cheap travel

So who cares where this ship sails to, you never have to get off! But if you do care you will visit the waterpark in Cozumel, playa del sol, or tube the white river and climb Duns River Falls in Jamacia, or Swim with the stingrays in Grand Cayman. Don t forget to look off the side of the ship in Cozumel and Cayman for Flying fish, you don t want to miss them. This ship also visits Royal Caribbena s Private Island, Labadee. Where you will receive a bbq lunch made for you by the chefs of RCCL right on the island. Everyone raves about this meal. Your ship is the only ship visiting the island at that time so relax and enjoy. The price is well worth all that is here to offer as I tell you will not be disappointed. The service you experience on this ship is worth every penny!!!!!!!! bangkok hotel

As the newest RCCL Brochure states .... All Cruises Lines can put ice in your drink but only Royal Caribbean can put ice under your feet! Read Subscriptions New User Registration OK music booking
