HOT FISHING RETURNS TO KEYS ALONG WITH VISITORSHOT FISHING RETURNS TO KEYS ALONG WITH VISITORSAuthor: Staff ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys - While the land-based clean-up continues in the Keys, ocean-going charter boats and backcountry skiffs are hosting anxious anglers. Popular marinas are reporting fast action along the reefs, with strong yellowtail and grouper bites. Teak Eslinger reeled in a 73-pound black grouper. Offshore, the bite has been equally strong. Anglers fishing with Captain Paul Ross on the Relentless out of Bud 'n' Mary's Marina, released seven sailfish on a day with relatively gentle breezes. Throughout the Keys, electricity and phone service has been restored to nearly 100% of homes and businesses. Hotels are welcoming guests, restaurants are serving Keys specialties and retail businesses are showing their wares. In Key Largo and Islamorada, many hotels are offering discounts to people from South Florida communities affected by Hurricane Wilma who need a day or two to cool off and relax. Price reductions up to 50% off regular room rates are being offered for a limited time, based on availability. To find out about area accommodations, call the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce at (800) 322-5397 or (305) 664-4503, or the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce at (800) 822-1088 or (305) 451-4747, or visit the Florida Keys Key West Web site at www.fla-keys.com .
