Torgerson appoints new vice president for college advancement

Hotel Booking President Richard Tor-gerson has announced the appointment of Keith J. Christensen to the position of vice president for college advancement. Christensen, currently vice president for advancement at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D., will begin his new position in mid-August.

Right now a group comprised of William Craft, vice president of academic affairs and dean for the college; Diane Tacke, vice president for finance and administration, art department faculty and President Richard Torgerson are currently working hard to find a new place for senior art majors to display their work.

Cheap Hotel Christensen's position as vice president for advancement will entail guiding the college's fund raising efforts- including capital campaigns, planned giving, annual fund, major gifts (cooperate and foundation relations), and overseeing alumni, congregational, and public relations.

This facility is expected to be available by the end of the first quarter this year for businesses whose travel management companies use the Sabre GDS (global distribution system), and later this year for those whose travel is booked through Amadeus, Galileo or Worldspan. Floyd Widener, vice president of GetThere and corporate travel at Sabre Travel Network, said the feature had been developed at the specific request of several European customers.

Flight Booking Christensen, a 1980 graduate of Luther College, served as director of planned giving at Luther 1986-94 prior to accepting a vice president's position at Augustana.

Travel Agent The decision to appoint Christensen follows the announcement that David R. Roslien, current vice president for advancement, will retire in August 2000. Roslien has headed the college advan-cement office since 1985.

Online Booking Decorah and Luther are familiar places for Christensen. Following his four years at the college as a student, he remained in Decorah for a total of 14 years both as a business person and a Luther administrator.
