Cheap Hotel The state Division of Fish and Wildlife wants to extend its trout stocking of the river all the way from White Bridge Road in Long Hill Township to Route 24 in Chatham Borough, said Lisa Barno, director of the division's bureau of freshwater fisheries. The plan is mentioned in the proposed 2004 fish code recently released by the state Fish and Game Council but yet to be formally approved.

Hotel Chicago In response, Bob Papson, a principal fisheries biologist with the division, took a look at the property. "He decided it was pretty good access," Barno said. "So they decided to go down river to Passaic River County Park. ... He looked at where else he could extend it (the trout-stocked water)."

Online Booking Papson came away with a positive review of the river and its access and suggested the trout-stocking trucks include more of the Passaic in their spring rounds. "We'll ultimately end up with four new stocking stations and two more miles of stream," Barno said. The current trout-stocked section of the river goes from White Bridge Road to Dead River in Somerset County.

Travel Health Insurance Although the White Bridge Road area has an unfortunate environmental history, anglers can breathe easily. The EPA completed a cleanup of the property in February 2002 and deleted it from the National Priorities List.

Hotel Reservation The 12 acres, which bordered the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, was one of four asbestos-dumping sites in the area. It was a harmless farm until 1969 when, according to the EPA, "the owner started receiving asbestos waste ... and using it as fill." The dumping continued until 1975 and the EPA-managed cleanup began in late 1991.

London Hotel Booking While Fish and Wildlife's plan will extend the trout-catching opportunities on the Passaic River, the division wants to stop slipping fish into one spot on another nearby stream. Barno said the new fish code calls for elimination of the Whippany River access point at Tingley Road near the headwaters of the river in Mendham.
