Discount Travel Hummers, however, weigh nearly 3 1/2 tons at minimum, making them illegal on the Washington Crossing span, though motorists can legally drive the 7-foot-wide vehicle over other commission bridges.

Orlando Hotel Other makes - such as the 2004 Cadillac Escalade, which weighs 5,571 pounds, and the four-wheel-drive 2004 Lincoln Navigator, which weighs 5,995 pounds - fall just under the 3-ton limit, but would likely exceed it with passengers and cargo. The Navigator, which is legal on the Washington Crossing Bridge, is, however, nearly 8 feet wide, including mirrors.

Booking Agency In Trenton, the Trenton Makes Bridge has a 5-ton limit, while the Calhoun Street Bridge has a 3-ton limit. The two bridges connect the city and Morrisville, Pa.

International Travel Medical The span between Center Bridge, Pa., and Stockton has a 20-ton weight limit, while the Upper Black Eddy-Milford Bridge has no weight restriction.

New York Hotel The Riegelsville Bridge, 56 miles north of Trenton and just south of Easton, Pa., has the lowest commission weight limit, at 2 1/2 tons.

Online Travel Booking McManimon suggested the commission consider either making the small bridges one-way, setting and enforcing tougher weight and width restrictions or installing signs warning drivers of large vehicles to fold their mirrors, if possible, before crossing small bridges.

Orlando Travel McManimon said making the commission's small bridges one-way could work in Trenton, which has two nearby free bridges - the Trenton Makes and Calhoun Street bridges - but said making spans, such as the one in Washington Crossing, one-way could be a problem since there isn't another nearby option.

Hilton Hotel The Joint Toll Bridge Commission isn't the only agency considering restrictions.

Booking Delta Com New York Assemblyman Ivan Lafayette wants to require heavy SUVs to travel along truck routes, the Associated Press reported. He said their girth makes them subject to the same weight-based safety standards as their commercial cousins.
