Cancun : Cancun's local government, The Municipality of Benito Juarez, reports no injuries or major structural damage after Hurricane Emily. Hotel zone services such as electricity, water, communications and local transportation, are working normally. Hotels have reported minimal property damage, mostly downed posts, signs and trees.

Booking Agency Hurricane Emily roars across Yucatan : The worst damage on the Yucatan Peninsula was in Puerto Aventuras, where the storm's eye came ashore some 60 miles south of the resort of Cancun and in Tulum, a collection of thatched hut hotels along a secluded strip of beach that is popular with backpackers.

International Travel Medical 23500 Evacuated in Riviera Maya Owing to Emily : As the fury of Hurricane Emily tore across the Caribbean and sped towards Mexico there is fresh communication from the the Riviera Maya region of Mexico, that there has been no loss of life reported and that the region's main airport, Cancun International Airport, has been open since 9:00 am this morning and is fully operational.

New York Hotel Press Release: Riviera Maya Resuming Normal Activities Following Hurricane Emily: Playa del Carmen, Mexico (July 21, 2005) -- The Riviera Maya region of Mexico, located just to the south of Cancun on the Yucatan peninsula, announces that electricity and running water have been restored to some parts of the region affected by Hurricane Emily. Phone service is also returning to normal operations, however it is still limited.
