San Juan Marriott gets $35m refurb

Hotel Booking The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino has begun phase one of a $35 million renovation to keep the 32 year-old building in sync with the latest in luxury resorts.

At the same time, gigantic hotel and casino complexes, rolling jet set, dot other parts of San Juan.

Travel Agency The finished product will result in a grand lobby, updated casino, refreshed ballroom, and guest rooms with a new Latin Caribbean look.

After you return to San Juan, take a drive over to Isla Verde to the El San Juan Hotel. This historic hotel has a gorgeous lobby area with lots of original carved wood details. Pop into the beautiful old casino or just enjoy the open lobby lounge. For dinner, right down the street on Avenida Isla Verde is Metropol, Puerto Rican fare.

Hotel Chicago Following, the main tower will be closed for a complete renovation. The ballroom will also be getting a face-lift with renovations taking place in September and meeting facilities due for work in October. Additionally, the cabana wing, consisting of 123 rooms, will be introduced as a brand new product featuring new accommodations and suites.

Online Booking Construction and renovations are scheduled to be complete by December 2006 and the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino will ring in 2007 with a brand new, state-of-the-art product.
