Getty Images Creates New Editorial Contributor Group, Signing Several of the World's Top Photographers

Industry Veteran, David Laidler, to Run New Group

Hotel Booking Getty Images (NYSE:GYI), the world's leading imagery company, today announced the formation of an editorial contributor group, providing renowned feature photographers unparalleled marketing and distribution opportunities, while offering customers access to powerful imagery from some of the most notable portfolios available. Getty Images' director of editorial photography, David Laidler, an industry veteran, will lead the new group.
Since the group's inception in early 2004, Getty Images has signed a select list of esteemed photographers from across the globe. Among them are Paris-based James Hill, a Pulitzer Prize winner known for his extraordinary imagery of political stories and ethnic conflicts; Washington, D.C.-based Chris Rainier, a leading documentary photographer covering vanishing cultures and tribes; and Beijing-based Katharina Hesse, a National Press Photographers Association award winner, known recently for portraying the changing face of China. Among the other highly regarded photographers new to the group and based in cities worldwide are Jean-Marc Giboux, Gilles Mingasson, Robert Nickelsberg and Pers-Anders Petterson. World Press Photo award winner Ami Vitale and Pulitzer Prize winner David Hume Kennerly, both of whom are Getty Images contributing news photographers, will also be represented by the editorial contributor group.
