Orbitz Statement on G2 Switchworks

Orbitz Statement on G2 Switchworks

CHICAGO, Ill., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Orbitz, LLC filed a lawsuit against G2 Switchworks Corp. and five of G2's officers and employees. All of the G2 defendants were former Orbitz employees. The lawsuit was filed in the Circuit Court of Cook County and alleges that the G2 defendants breached their employment-related agreements with Orbitz, which includes having improperly taken and used Orbitz's confidential information and trade secrets.
At least one current G2 employee has already admitted, in writing, that he "was in possession of and used sensitive documents." That same G2 employee also confirmed that "[t]here is simply no excuse for my actions." Orbitz will vigorously protect the information it has spent vast resources to develop. Orbitz filed this lawsuit to determine what additional information and other property the G2 defendants took from Orbitz, to prevent its further use by the G2 defendants, and to require its return to Orbitz.

Hotel Booking About Orbitz

Travel agents obtain some of their information from the same sources as online booking sites such as Orbitz and Travelocity. They also receive daily emails and faxes with new specials from resorts and hotels that may not be published on the internet. Travel agents can also call a place directly to see if they can work out other kinds of special deals for you, something an online site can’t do.

Travel Agency Orbitz is a leading online travel company that enables travelers to search for and purchase a broad array of travel products, including airline tickets, lodging, rental cars, cruises and vacation packages. Since launching its website, http://www.orbitz.com/ , to the general public in June 2001, Orbitz has become the third largest online travel site based on gross travel bookings. On Orbitz, consumers can search more than 455 airlines, tens of thousands of lodging properties worldwide and 22 car rental companies. Orbitz was acquired by Cendant's Travel Distribution Services division in November 2004, and is part of the Consumer Travel Americas group.

Booking destination activities is a separate transaction to your flights, hotels or other bookings on this site. When you have chosen your selected travel product, a booking form automatically appears, please enter your credit card details as requested. Once you submit your booking and the product becomes confirmed, your credit card is automatically changed. Your statement will show Viator as the merchant.
