New York, NY (PRWEB) January 8 2004--Urban Impact Marketing, Inc. is proud to announce the successful launch of its new Interactive Marketing Division, specializing in targeting the Urban Youth Culture through todays top media tool, the internet. Services include website development, search engine submission and optimization, banner and email advertisements. Contracts are currently being negotiated with several major music and apparel firms and we expect to launch our first clients website sometime the third week of January, stated Urban Impact Marketing President, Jonathan Halloran-Koren.

Urban Impact Marketing, Inc. was one of the first advertising agencies designed to assist companies targeting the hip-hop culture and college markets. The agency provides integrated marketing, PR, special event management & marketing, entertainment marketing, brand development, mobile marketing and guerilla marketing or street team services to businesses seeking to tap these powerful and profitable markets.

Urban Impact Marketing is the brainchild of president Jonathan Halloran-Koren, a 21-year-old college student and successful entrepreneur. Halloran-Koren is no newcomer to hip-hop business and urban marketing. His previous successes include MusiciansResource.net, an online music industry directory and community, as well as Direct Artist Bookings, Urban Impact Talent and Urban Business Network.

Urban Impact Marketing was developed with the goal of serving two very lively and important market niches that are overlooked and underserved by traditional ad agencies the college market, which commands a purchasing power in excess of $100 billion annually, and the hip-hop culture market composed of more than 40 million ethnically diverse fans.

At 15 million strong, if the nations student body were to form its own College State, it would be the fourth most populous state in the US. Yet the college consumer is one of the most difficult for marketers to reach.

Its no secret that the buying power, curiosity and receptiveness of college students make them an ideal target market. But this market the top-tier of the young adult community is notoriously resistant to traditional advertising techniques, says Halloran-Koren. College students watch less TV, read fewer periodicals and listen to radio far less often than other adult segments. They just dont hear your message. The best way to reach college students is through their peers and companies look to us for expert guidance in reaching this huge market.

Today, urban hip-hop marketing has become the new American melting pot. Rather than tailoring a campaign to a specific ethnicity, more and more consumer brands are launching campaigns that cater to fans of the hip-hop culture which influences everything from fashion to food in an attempt to simultaneously reach a broad and diverse youth demographic that includes African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians and whites.

Just like the college market, the hip-hop consumer is extremely difficult to reach. The reason? Hip-hop is not just music, but a culture or even a lifestyle, says Halloran-Koren. If you are not part of the lifestyle, its almost impossible to effectively reach someone who is. How can you honestly expect a 40-year-old advertising executive to connect with a 19-year-old college student or hip-hop fan? You just cant. Our unique experience with these markets is what makes our agency special.

Using his college as a source for talent, Halloran-Koren has picked the brightest, most ambitious and creative individuals to work with him on this new venture, representing a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities. Urban Impact Marketing is currently in negotiations with a number of major consumer brands and has also been consulted by a number of advertising agencies with clients who desire more exposure to the college and hip-hop culture markets.
