Travel Agency Steven R. Goldman is Executive Vice President, Acquisitions & Development, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., the leading hotel owner and operator in the world with more than 725 hotels and resorts in 80 countries. Mr. Goldman leads Starwood`s global development team and is responsible for hotel acquisition and development efforts through single or multiple property purchases, joint ventures, management contracts and franchise agreements. He is also a member of Starwood`s Senior Operating Committee. A senior executive with a diverse background and extensive experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Goldman has been involved in all aspects of real estate acquisition, finance, development and strategic planning for more than 17 years. He joined Starwood Lodging Trust, the predecessor entity of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, in 1995 immediately following its reorganization and recapitalization and served on the company`s Board of Trustees from 1995 through 1997. Mr. Goldman was previously a partner at Starwood Capital Group, a Connecticut-based private real estate investment firm that sponsored the reorganization effort of Hotel Investors Trust and Hotel Investors Corporation, the predecessor of Starwood Lodging Trust and Starwood Lodging Corporation. As Vice President of hotel acquisition and asset management, he had responsibility for the oversight and expansion of hotel investments. Mr. Goldman came to Starwood Capital Group from Disney Development Company; the real estate investment, management and development division of the Walt Disney Company, where he served as Senior Development Manager. At Disney, he was responsible for management and execution of a two-year $125 million land assembly program. His other responsibilities included coordination of the hotel development strategy for the proposed $3 billion Disneyland resort theme park expansion and acquisition of property for Disney`s resort and new business ventures. Prior to serving with Disney, Mr. Goldman worked at Hyatt Development Corporation, the real estate and development company of Hyatt Hotel Corporation. At Hyatt, Mr. Goldman was Director of Development with responsibility to review Hyatt and other Pritzker hotel acquisition, investment, development and management opportunities. Prior to Hyatt, Mr. Goldman was a management consultant with Laventhol and Horwath. Mr. Goldman received his B.S. from Cornell University and his MBA concentrating in finance from the University of Chicago.
