London Hotel Booking Calton's request to connect its 181 proposed homes to the sewer system of the Homestead development was denied by the DEP. Calton then filed a federal lawsuit against the county and DEP, demanding the sewer connection.

Discount Travel Gillespie said the DEP was considering allowing that connection as part of a settlement, but township officials want to use Homestead's extra sewerage capacity to replace failing septic systems in the Columbus section of town.

Orlando Hotel Calton has not started construction on the 88 approved homes because its plans for those include public sewerage.

Booking Agency Mayor Arthur Puglia said most of Calton's homes would be priced at $500,000 or more.
