Booking Agency Kathleen Hamm and Marc Levinson, two commuters on the Montclair-Boonton rail line, say they will probably be among those making the switch.

International Travel Medical Hamm said she puts off buying her monthly ticket until the last minute and often finds herself stuck in 20-minute lines at New York Penn Station.

New York Hotel "I'm not as organized as I'd like to be," she said. "This online system sounds like a good idea. I think a lot of people will do it."

Online Travel Booking Levinson, on the other hand, rarely gets bogged down on the lines because he buys his monthly tickets days in advance. Still, he says he would welcome a chance to avoid the agency's unpredictable ticket vending machines.

Travel Medical Insurance "Somehow, they managed to buy the world's worst ticket machines," he said. "They're very, very slow and they break down a lot, too."

Miami Hotel Bowen, of the railroad passengers group, uses a monthly pass for his bus commute from Hoboken to Manhattan. He said he buys tickets at the Port Authority terminal, rather than through the mail, in order to cash in his voucher for TransitCheck, a program that lets commuters pay for their mass transit tickets through payroll deductions with pre-tax money.

Air Deccan Booking NJ Transit will continue to honor TransitCheck vouchers for online ticket purchases, but the system will require customers to mail the voucher in for reimbursement after they purchase the monthly passes.

Las Vegas Nevada Travel Bowen said he may continue buying tickets in person until NJ Transit finds a way to incorporate the TransitCheck voucher more directly in the electronic process.

Las Vegas Nv Hotel "It's not a fatal flaw," he said. "But this should be doable in a E- world."
